2024 was packed with a lot of releases from all brands across the board. A lot of rumored releases coming to life made this year even more exciting. Sneaker hype dying down making it easier to obtain pairs of shoes that you actually want. All brands have cooked up major heat this year and left our wallets empty. It’s crazy to think that 2025 is supposed to be better.
Well, enjoy my personal top 10 releases from this past year in sneakers. List is based on personal preference and opinions. I have my reasons and you have yours but here me out!

10. Wu-Tang x Dunk High Retro Premium 2024
Nike Wu-Tang dunk was one of the most coveted sneaker of all time. Nike is going into the vault and making retros of old popular sneakers that have been hard to get for years. There are a lot of mixed reviews as it comes to Nike bringing back a lot of these grails in big quantities. I’m not the biggest fan of this sneaker for that reason but I do think it’s a notable release because it’s the start and end of a sneaker collecting era.
9. Travis Scott x Jordan Jumpman Jack TR ‘Sail’
You know a Travis Scott shoe had to make my list this year. Actually, there’s two on my list ironically but more on that later. This is the signature sneaker from the Missouri City artist released by Jordan Brand. Although Travis has collaborated with Nike many times on many Jordan and Air Max silhouettes this is the first time the artist has released his own signature sneaker. He teased the shoe for months and now multiple colors dropped this year.
8. Zoom Kobe 6 Protro ‘Italian Camo’ 2024
Nike is comin in hot with the Kobe releases this year. This is the sneaker that made it feel like Kobe’s were starting to get easier to get. Designers are going for more off the court colorways and model looks. This sneaker looks like it can be worn anywhere! The Kobe 6 is the most worn basketball shoe on the court in the NBA right now and it can stay in that spot if Nike keep dropping fire Kobe retros. The pair from 2011 is back and better than ever.
7. Kith x Marvel x Asics
Asics has recently made a lot of noise in the community and this collection showed their versatility and creativity. Kith brought Marvel to Asics and dropped multiple sneakers inspired by characters from the brand. The GT-2160, GEL-Kayano 14 and GEL-1130 are the Asics models that dropped in this collection. I’m pretty much putting the whole project at this spot so any of the sneakers could fit in this spot on the list. I just love the creativity KITH brought to this release and I love that there’s a shoe for everyone in this project. I would personally put the Spiderman vs Venom pairs as my favorite on the project.
6. Futura Laboratories x Dunk Low SB ‘Bleached Aqua’
This Dunk shook the sneaker world when it dropped. Nike SB hasn’t been shocking the community like it has been in the past. and this sneaker made it feel like Nike SB is still in their bag! This sneaker is beautiful, from the details in the watercolor canvas. The Icey blue outsoles down to the multi-colored laces. This shoe released in a fair, traditional way through skate shops and select retailers. Futura also dropped a Friends and Family pair along side of the original release.
5. Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG SP ‘Velvet Brown’
This Jordan Low from Travis Scott is one of my favorite shoes that dropped this year. I have started to like more earth tones with my sneakers and you already know I’m a fan of Travis Scott. I wouldn’t think I liked this shoe at first then i saw some one feet pictures and I can’t wait to add it to my collection. I love this Jordan 1 low but I really do think Travis should let this model rest. What do y’all think about this pair? What do you rate it among all the AJ1 lows from Travis.
4. Action Bronson x 1906R ‘Rosewater’
This new sneaker from Action Bronson is top tier in New balance collaborations. Bronson does it again with NB but this time tooling with the 1906R. He has two other colorways of the sneaker but this is the Rose Water. The colors in the sneaker all work well together and they keep you mesmerized. I didn’t like this sneaker at first but now I can’t stop looking away from it. I want to add this pair to my collection because I know they’re comfortable and they’re a neck breaker.
3. Air Jordan 3 Retro OG ‘Black Cement’ 2024
There is no possible way I could not put this sneaker on my list. It’s a classic, and staple, a must have in a Jordan sneaker collection. The Air Jordan 3 Black Cement 3. A sneaker that MJ played in himself and was the a turning point for the brand. Brought back in it’s more pure form to replicate the OG release. This sneaker released around the holidays and wasn’t too hard to get your hands on. This is a pair I’m definitely going to pick up this year.
2. Kids of Immigrants x Air Sunder Max SP ‘Sun Down’
Based on wow factor and story appeal this sneaker collaboration is checking all the boxes. The Kids of Immigrants x Nike Air Max Sunder Max SP ‘Sun Up’ & ‘Sun Down’ comes from the brand late in the year dropping in a pack of two. Both with opposite fades in color of each other. I’m more drawn to the Sun Down Colorway probably because it’s more wearable with my wardrobe. Both sneakers are done beautifully and I hope this can make a lot of consumers appreciate the Sunder Max after this release.
1. Air Max Ishod Wair SB ‘Obsidian Pine’
My number one sneaker of the year has to be the Nike SB Ishod Wair Air Max in it’s original colorway ‘Obsidian Pine’. This sneaker has to be at my number one spot because it’s one of the few pairs I even purchased this year. Professional skateboarder Ishod Wair released his second sneaker model this year. I must say this sneaker is one of kind with a comfortable react insole, breathable mesh side paneling and padded oval tongue, This sneaker is one of the most comfortable pairs I own. Featuring a visible air max unit, this is a revolutionary skateboarding shoe and it’s hard to compete with Nike when it comes to pushing the boundaries.
