Nike Sb pays tribute to Sandy Boedecker with his very own dunk. This dunk is also known as the Ebay dunk.
Two pairs were originally made in 2003 and they were meant to be one of the rarest shoes in the game. One of the two pairs were sawed to shreds at a live fundraising event and the other pair got auctioned off. The event helped the skateboarding community in Portland, Oregon. It was later revealed that the secret bidder was Sandy Boedecker himself, the founder of Nike Skateboarding.
This sneaker is seeing a special release through Nike Sb and a tribute to Sandy himself. There are 10 special box pairs that are up for auction on Ebay as part of the official roll out. Proceeds will go to the Boedecker foundation and the bid for each pair so far is around 16 hundred.
This shoe is very much a tribute piece to Sandy and everything he’s done. The sneaker is based off the original pairs from 2003; they have “saw cuts’ down the shoe to tell the story in a more physical type of way. Clear midsole and outsole where the cuts meet a translucent strips of plastic. Heel tab features an “SB” with a signature Nike Swoosh. The top of the tongue tag has a #NIKESBFOREVER to show the impact and respect Nike Sb gives to Boedecker. Sandy himself on the insoles of the sneaker is another great tribute piece.
This is a great collector’s piece especially for all my Nike Sb Heads out there. I fore sure need this pair in my collection. Releasing on SNKRS app at 9:00 AM CDT on December 17th. Also releasing at your local skate shops… retail price is $130.
