This Air Max day, Nike is celebrating in a form of an Air Max Retro!
The Air Max 1 was a transition from a running shoe to a more modern and technical trainer.
Nike went to Tinker Hatfield in pursuit of something fresh for the brand.
Tinker spent a lot of time and effort into this design. Some of the issues were the size of the visible air unit. In 2023 that Air unit comes to life.
Tinker Hatfield created a legacy with the Brand Nike. It’s quite justified that he saved the brand himself. Tinker sits down in an interview on the SNKRS app to explain some of the behind the scenes process of the design. This sneaker changed the way people look at shoes. Nike being the first to show the visible air unit in the heel of the shoe. The big bubble is as big as Tinker first wanted it way back when. This is history.
The box alone has a vintage look to pay homage to a deadstock feeling. In comparison to the 2017 Anniversary pair, the bubble clearly lives up to the name of the shoe.
