Air is a legendary must watch for any sneakerhead in the game. I was hyped when I first got wind of this production and I’m excited I already got to see it in theaters. I got tickets for me and my girlfriend Jordan on the premier date 4/5/23.
This movie told the story of how Michael Jordan signed to Nike going into the NBA draft. It did a good job of educating the general public about early Sneaker days.
The budget on the film was over 70 million dollars. The Movie features A-list actors including Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Jason Bateman, Marlon Wayans and more! Distribution was done by Amazon Studios for United States and Warner Bros. Pictures for international.
One thing my girlfriend didn’t like about the movie is that they couldn’t pair an actors face with Michael Jordan himself. So in some of the scenes it felt weird because there should be some dialog coming from MJ himself. One thing I didn’t like about the film it’s self is that the story-line just seemed to have a low rise and fall. It was well told and I love how accurate it seems in the story aspect but there just wasn’t that much of a climax. The whole movie had a couple locations which made me feel a little bored. But I know they can’t make everything look like the 1980’s. I loved how they did make everything feel vintage and old school.
Overall it was a great film with a crew of great talents. It was funny and emotional. As a sneakerhead, and a filmmaker, I enjoyed this film a lot. Glad to be a part of Box Office opening sales.
Had to wear some OG Nikes, or Air Jordans of course but the big question is, which pair should I go with?
I went with my Fire Red Air Jordan 4’s. An OG colorway for a legendary movie.
Quick shout-out to the my friend Preston for gifting me this pair a couple years back. This is my oldest pair of shoes in rotation as they are a 2012 release.
