Professional Skateboarder Ishod Wair is finally getting his own signature sneaker. He has been teasing the sneakers in his Instagram clips for months. The initial release got pushed from late fall to January of 2022.
The sneaker features a low cut build with a reverse swoosh on the inside and outside of the upper. With mini swoosh logos on the toe box and Ishod’s name on the corner of the tongue; it looks like Nike focused more on the sneaker this time other than branding.
The middle of the upper has a mesh like cage for breathability, and board feel. This could be a nod to cages on the Jordan 4 and 5.
The midsole is made up of three different parts. A top black liner to improve durability. A classic white center which features react technology. Finished with a gum outer sole which could have a new pattern for grip tape feel.
This Nike SB is something different from what we’ve been getting this past year. Good to see a lot of technology and thought go into this model. On a historical note, Ishod is the first Black Skater to have a signature Nike shoe ever. Could this be the start of a whole new Nike SB Craze? Keep a lookout for these pairs dropping next month.
